Government hospitals offer free treatment to the economically deprived. But children with Special Needs have varied issues. In addition to medical facilities, these children may also need specialized surgical procedures, special orthotic aids, Botox muscle treatments, adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc), remedial medication like Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, et all. None of these are covered under the purview of the government’s “free healthcare for the poor”.
The costs of these specialized treatments are way above an average citizen’s reach, making it impossible for the low-income group to have any means to access them. Hence, the children from poor families go through their lives, without treatment.
ACWF helps these children get the required medical and assisted-living interventions. Based on the individual child’s need, ACWF pays for surgeries, treatments, and takes care of the post-operative rehabilitation of the child. In cases where alternative medication is extremely promising for the child’s development, ACWF, in consultation with the treating physician, funds the treatment at registered centres of Alternative medicine.
